14/10 Dear, Dear Pop’s heard! I came to Pip for the first time in “QX” (seen above). Very pleasing Clod (Uncle Noel) and Mary fetched me from the field. I am unpopular about the aeroplane partly for not saying anything about it – if I had I would never have got it. We’ll see, it’ll turn out ok.15/10 Heavens - Pa told me to take “that stinking aeroplane off his land” – Obviously it doesn’t smell – but it is his land - I said. Clod said if only I were more tactful. I took Clod for a ride today – He was meeting at Brampton Ash so we went to look at it. I took Jean Rose up.16/10 Took Billy over to Ratcliffe to get some petrol. We arrived back at Pip and I took Pen, Anthony and Jean Rose up – that girl is becoming a nuisance – if only I weren’t born polite ! 17/10 This aeroplane doesn’t go down with Pa – oh hell – it’ll be alright.
